In 1994, the Bossa Group invested in the construction of the Yanziyan Aluminum Mine Plant in Nanchuan City to conduct a simple development of the minerals. However, after simple development, the abandoned slag was piled up and became mountains. Once a rainstorm occurred, sewage mixed with slag flowed around and caused great pollution to the local environment. More than 300,000 tons of bauxite slag abandoned has become a major problem for the Bossa Group.
After conducting extensive investigations and research, Bossa Group decided in 2001 to invest RMB 250 million in the construction of Pioneer Alumina Co., Ltd. to use slag to produce alumina. Due to the large amount of fuel needed to produce alumina, they also cooperated with the Nanchuan Coking Plant and invested more than 80 million yuan to establish Daxing Coal Chemical Company. The coking plant has fully utilized more than 10 million cubic meters of gas burned out each year. The gas from the coking plant brought sufficient energy supply to Pioneer Alumina, and it also created an annual profit of more than 5 million yuan. At present, more than 200,000 tons of slag have been reused in the Bossa Group, and the remaining 100,000 tons of slag has been regarded as a precious resource. However, a large number of toxic and harmful coking waste water produced during coking has become a new problem that they urgently need to solve.
Dealing with coking wastewater is an internationally recognized problem. At the end of last year, Bossay Group, Tongji University's State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Utilization Research, and Chongqing Institute of Technology's Biological Engineering College signed a cooperative research and development agreement for a new coking wastewater treatment process and decided to treat high-sulfur, high-nitrogen coking wastewater. New technology research. The implementation of this process can reach the internationally leading level of sewage treatment. According to this agreement, the Bossa Group is currently building a treatment tank with a daily processing capacity of 20 tons of wastewater. After the completion, the wastewater discharged from the coking plant in the past will be recycled and the coking plant will be saved annually. Cost several hundred thousand dollars.
